I have not had a Citi Bank credit card for years. For the last 6 months I have been getting premier card offers in the mail. The latest offer I received was for 60k ThankYou points and I couldn’t pass it up. I was approved immediately and the card showed up about a week later. This was my first new card application since October of 2017 so I was due for a new one.
Over the last few years we have saved up roughly 300k points
for our Hawaii trip coming up in the Summer of 2019. Now that we have spent most of those points
on our flights for Hawaii it was time to get our points balance back up.
Some benefits of the Citi Premier Card:
Earn 3X on Travel including Gas Stations
Earn 2X on Dining Out and Entertainment
Earn 1X on All Other Purchases
The annual fee is also waived for the first year.
I really like the 3x points on gas station purchases.

I plan on having Kim get the same card in the next couple of
weeks and that will give us another 60k points.
Thankyou points can be combined for free so we will eventually have over
120k points saved up for a future fun trip somewhere. I would love to take a trip to Europe or the Polynesian
islands for our 10 year anniversary in 2020.
