How easy is "breast is best" while traveling??

mamava nursing station

I'm on baby number 3 and this is by far the longest I've made it pumping and nursing. She is 4 weeks shy of 1. Yea me!! Attempting to travel with or without your baby while providing breast milk is stressful!

This past weekend I was in a wedding in Maryland and knew I couldn't bring my baby with me, and was going to be away for two days. The planning and pumping on my part leading up to this was a lot!! Literally counting every ounce and trying to get a head of her so I could leave for the weekend. But that challenge is another story.

I planned to take my pump and a little cooler bag with freeze packs for the way home. I've learned my lesson to just go ahead and take the ice packs out before sending it through security because it always gets flagged and searched so you might as well save yourself the hassle.
getting prepared hoping to not get stopped since its obvious what it is

no luck! waiting on bag check to confirm ice pack is in fact ice pack
Once I was getting into the wedding festivities I had to try and figure out when and where I was going to pump. The wedding was going to be at this old mansion with a big tent out back. During the rehearsal the head guy was telling us all where the bathrooms were and then made a joke we even have a lactating room because we have to now. I think he meant it as an annoyed joke but I then yelled whahoo! Everyone laughed including the guy but I was dead serious! The next day at the wedding we were all ready and I decided to plan out my next pumping session. I went to look around to find that lactating room, which I don't  know why he called it that it sounds ridiculous. I'm picturing this nice little room with a sofa and maybe even some water or something haha yes I'm sure my expectations were way too high. After a few minutes of wandering around and finding nothing but closests I ask the lady hey where's the pump room. She says o it's the bathroom I guess. I'm like what!!! Dang so much for my pumping suite with a full bar and lovely sofa haha. Needless to say the point of that story is the world is not very accommodating to the nursing and pumping mom, especially the mom on the go!

The next day is back to the airport and my next adventure of where to pump next! Again I take out my milk and freezer packs. The guy checking my stuff seems freaked out by it and just zips up my bag and hands it back.
Keith and I have been reading a lot about the law of attraction and it is funny how things work out. I'm wandering around BWI thinking I need to pump before I fly out. Where should I go? I really don't want to do it in a bathroom, gross. I see all these rocking chairs and think that would be nice but I'm right in front of everyone with no cover and there are no outlets.  I round the corner and there in front of me a bunch of worker guys delivering a pumping nursing station!! These are portable nursing/pumping stations by Mamava. How cool! I'm kinda bummed I just found these when I only have 4 weekish left for my goal to pump/nurse. These stations have two benches with counters and outlets for your pump. They also seemed big enough to fit your stroller in there if you're flying solo with baby and don't want to leave it in the terminal. My only suggestion for these pods would be a thing of cleaning wipes to help keep the space even cleaner.

There is even a cool app you can download to help find all the pods in your area or airport.

To say the least I'm pumped! about these stations
